Harlequin Shrimp found on our local reef

Recently we discovered a beautiful Harlequin Shrimp on one of our local reefs.  When they encounter a mate, they stay together for life forming monogamous, often territorial pairs. They only feed on starfish.  On this photo you can see how he is busy eating  a piece of starfish .  They immobilize the starfish and then feed on their legs. We are excited to search for the other one.Harlequin Shrimp
